Out of chaos often surfaces beauty – and in this case it resulted in a magazine worthy landscape for our incredible clients. We were hired very late in the process. The backyard had been demolished and the contractor’s team was onsite ready to build something, but there was no plan! We quickly went to work and the late nights designing were worth it because we now have dear friends in the clients and a beautiful garden space to nurture. Their backyard is adjacent a golf course tee box so protection from rogue golf balls was a must. We designed a screening arbor anchored by a beautiful stone wall around a new fire pit patio. Now our clients can totally relax and relish in the beautiful views. Turf areas where the grandkids like to play are surrounded by colorful planting beds. Paver pathways and thyme lined bluestone steppers seamlessly connect the garden areas and lead to a new paver dining patio. Bougainvillea and jasmine vines adorn custom trellises against the house. A retaining wall and guest entrance stairs frame the new hot tub and seating area, which was made to feel more intimate with a decorative privacy screen, flowering vines and young trees.

When we started to redo our backyard we had ideas of how we wanted it to be. As time went on we realized that our ideas were okay, but not great. Our contractor brought in Laura and having her design the backyard was the best decision we made. Her vision for the yard was amazing and one we never would have thought of. Every day we look outside at the yard we smile and are so happy that Laura came into our lives. Besides being a great landscape designer, she is an amazing person and now a new friend.
